1. Who we are

The Truth is an AI-powered tool that analyzes conversation dynamics. It is operated as an independent product ("The Truth"). For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at contact@knowthetruth.app.

As our service is directed at users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Latvian data protection law.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to provide the service:

• Conversation content and screenshots — submitted by you for analysis. This data is sent to the AI model and immediately discarded. It is not stored on our servers.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Stripe retains a payment record as required for financial compliance.
• Usage analytics — anonymous page view data via Vercel Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, IP addresses are not stored).

We do not store your conversations, screenshots, name, or analysis results after your session ends.

3. How we use your data

• To process your submission and return an analysis result in real time.
• To process your payment via Stripe.
• To understand aggregate usage patterns via anonymous analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process your data under the following legal bases:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — processing your submission and payment to provide the analysis you requested.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — anonymous analytics to understand how the service is used.

5. Third-party services

We use the following sub-processors:

• Anthropic — AI model provider. Your submitted content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the analysis and is not retained by us. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle API data.
• Stripe — payment processor. Handles all payment data. We receive only a payment confirmation. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Vercel — hosting and anonymous analytics. No personal data is stored in our database.

6. Data retention

We do not store your conversation content, screenshots, name, or analysis results. This data exists only in memory during active processing and is discarded once the result is returned to you.

Stripe retains payment records as required by financial regulations. To request deletion of payment data, contact Stripe directly or email us at contact@knowthetruth.app.

7. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EU, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. Because we do not store personal data from your analysis, most of these rights apply only to payment records held by Stripe.

8. Sensitive content

You may submit personal conversations containing sensitive information. Please be thoughtful about what you share. Do not submit content containing highly sensitive personal details (health, financial, legal) of third parties who have not consented.

9. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your conversation content is never written to disk or a database — it passes through memory only during processing.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
